CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - Just before 3 p.m. Tuesday, Indiana State Police and Clay County emergency agencies responded to a two vehicle crash on Interstate 70 near mile marker 24.
Officials report Jerry E. Roberts, 50 of Indianapolis, was driving westbound on I-70 when he struck the rear of a gold 2002 Toyota Avalon driven by Leigha N. Horvath, 21 of Coatsville, Ind.
The collision caused both vehicles off the road and caused Roberts vehicle to flip.
Witnesses reported Roberts may have been speeding and weaving in and out of traffic prior to the crash.
Both drivers were transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for non life threatening injuries.
Roberts was cited for reckless driving, unsafe lane movement, and following too close.
