TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Several dogs rescued from a West Terre Haute neglect case have been fostered.
That's according to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
We're told some of the smaller dogs have temporary foster homes.
Some of the bigger dogs are still at the shelter.
Shelter workers have updated the dogs' shots.
They've also bathed the dogs, treated them for fleas, and groomed them.
While the dogs are in foster care, they can't be adopted until the court-case plays out.
“Hopefully, the court proceedings will go through and they’ll relinquish the animals to us, and then we’ll be able to get them into good homes, good situations,” Cali Skinner from the Terre Haute Humane Society said.
Police arrested Kenneth and Tracy Walling last week.
Authorities removed an elderly woman, and two young children from their home.
Shelter workers say the animals are expected to make a full recovery.
