TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A new report shows many Illinois drivers are using car seats incorrectly.
The Illinois Department of Transportation released the data.
It shows 90 percent of child passengers are riding in car seats, but 3 out of 5 are not used correctly.
Illinois transportation officials say automobile crashes are the leading cause of death for kids under the age of 13.
On Saturday, Illinois state officials and AAA are sponsoring sessions where parents and caregivers can receive advice on car seat safety.

UPDATE: Around 9 a.m. on Saturday, the Terre Haute Police Department responded to the Statesman Inn room 144 at 1407 N 3rd Street. Officers found Randall Norton Jr, 21, with multiple stab wounds to his back and abdomen.
