GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - Frances Rooney appeared in the Greene County Courthouse Wednesday. You may remember, a passerby told police he found Frances Rooney's two-year-old son in the Sullivan/Greene Forrest in August.
That location was almost two miles away from Rooney's house. Wednesday, Rooney appeared with her husband and children, including the two-year-old. He visually appeared to be in good health and in good spirits.
In the courtroom, a judge read Rooney's charges. They included neglect of a dependent. Rooney was not taken into police custody after the charges were read.
The Greene County prosecutor said he did not ask for a warrant for her arrest. That's because she has four children, and her husband works.
She could be placed in custody if she misses a court date, or of course if she's found guilty. Rooney's next court appearance is scheduled for January 22.
