TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Sunday was the 14th annual Marine Corps League Golf Scramble at Rea Park.
Marines hit the links for a game with a purpose.
Proceeds go to fundraisers the Marine Corps League supports.
The majority of the money will be used to sponsor events to help veterans.
Organizers say the event also builds camaraderie between the service men and women, and the community.
"Anything to help the veterans! That's the biggest thing. A lot of people don't realize that, yes, there are organizations that do this, but they're still in need of a lot of help," said Scott Buchholz, chair of the golf scramble.
The Marine Corps League has already given over $125,000 to veterans and other organizations this year.
