SULLIVAN CO., Ind. (WTHI) - Dozens of lucky kids got to experience Christmas as little early Tuesday morning.
Sullivan County Sheriff's Deputies and Indiana State Police Troopers held their annual Shop with a Cop even at the Sullivan County Walmart.
70 Sullivan County children were signed up for the program.
Each child received $150 to spend on clothes and toys.
Troopers and Deputies alike said it's great to give kids gifts for Christmas, but one Deputy believes it's also beneficial for another reason.
It's good for the kids to have some positive contact with the Police Officers. The community likes to see that," said Deputy Carl Mechert.
The money for each child comes from community fundraisers and donations from area businesses.
