TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A local retirement community spent the day honoring our nation's heroes.
The Wyndmoor Executive Estates held a ceremony this afternoon to pay tribute to its members who served in combat.
12 veterans currently call the Wyndmoor, home.
Wyndmoor brought in a Senior Master Sergeant from the Iraq War to speak at the event.
Executive Director Beth Clark said the veterans greatly appreciate the sense of patriotism.
"You know, the veterans, just hanging a flag out front meant so much to them, because they fought so hard for it," said Clark.
The vets at Wyndmoor served between WW II and the Vietnam War.
As a reminder, Veterans Day is Sunday, November 11.
