CASEY, Ill. (WTHI) - It's a piece of golf equipment fit for a giant, and it's right here in the Wabash Valley. Bolin Enterprise in Casey, Illinois unveiled a massive golf tee Tuesday.
If you're wondering, it's more than 30 feet long, and over 6,000 pounds! It took builders nearly half a year to complete the enormous wooden item.
State lawmakers were on hand to measure it. Builders hope to move the tee to a local golf course in the future.
They're glad to bring publicity to the city with the giant accomplishment.
"It's fun to see the community, cause a lot of the local community knew about it. They'd stop by and just having the community up beat about something, about their hometown it's really thrilling," builder, Jim Bolin said.
Next, builders will submit footage from Tuesday to Guiness World Records. If it's certified, Casey Illinois will officially have the world's largest golf tee.
