TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Rose-Hulman students swarmed the campus Friday afternoon.
561 new freshman invaded the residence halls earlier.
Several Terre Haute students are among the incoming students.
It's the second largest number of new students in the institute's history.
"That meets our needs, it meets our facilities, our number of faculty, labortories, etc. This is a culmination of a year, 18 months of hard work by a small group of people. So this is to us the most exciting day of the year,” said Jim Goecker, vice president of enrollment management.
The freshmen this year represent 35 states and nine different countries.
The 2013-14 academic year starts on September 5.
