TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Women in the Wabash Valley received some special recognition Thursday.
It was the Wabash Valley Women of Influence annual award ceremony.
The event aims to honor women who have made differences in their communities.
Organizers of the event say it's important women be recognized for their contributions.
"Their sphere of influence is beyond measure. These people are making a difference in an individual or family's life. From cleaning a skate park to art spaces that have left beauty in the eye of the beholder in various parts of the community. They're growing their reach," Lisa Johnson, Chair of the Woman of Influence group said.
This is the 2nd year for the event.
Over 400 people were in attendance.
