WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Providence Food Pantry now has a new home!
The new pantry facility is in West Terre Haute.
The former pantry was located in a basement of a former school building.
The Sisters of Providence ministry serves low-income families and has for almost 20 years.
The new building doubles the size of the pantry's space.
The director said the new pantry is more convenient and a lot safer.
"It just seems like it's a gift from God. The spacing is just marvelous. It's bright and the people only have one step. They used to have to go up eight steps to register," said Sister Joseph Fillenwarth, director.
The pantry is open on Thursdays from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m.
