VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - A Vigo County family is out of their house after a burn barrel fire flamed up in the night.
It happened on Clover Court, in the Garden Quarter in Vigo County, Saturday morning.
Firefighters said the burn barrel had not been fully extinguished. The barrel was located in the backyard of the house. The fire traveled up an exterior wall and into the attic.
One of the daughters in the house was able to get everybody else out before they were hurt. One firefighter was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Officials remind, if you burn on your property, make sure all hot embers are put out before you walk away from the fire.
