KINGMAN, Ind. (WTHI) - The Newnum family has a knack for music and naturally take after their father, Jeremy.
"Oh my gosh, everybody loved Jeremy. He could talk to anybody, he related to every single kind of group of people. He was, he was a great guy, very loving, most unselfish person I've every met," Christy Newnum said.
Now, they think of their dad when they play.
Jeremy died in a motorcycle accident two weeks ago.
"A lady fell asleep and crossed the center line and hit him head on," Newnum said.
Christy remembers hearing the news.
"It just didn't seem real," she said.
She is left to raise five children, three of which have Muscular dystrophy, a genetic disorder.
Doctors say all three boys will eventually rely on a wheelchair.
However, they have faith.
"I believe 100 percent God is going to heal my kids."
"To get healed, walk, run, play like the other kids," Dalton Newnum said.
She's staying strong and thankful she has prior nursing experience to help her kids and others to lean on.
"I have a lot of support and a lot of help, my family, my Church family, my friends and so they're just stepped up and done things he wouldn't normally do," she said.
It's life's most difficult curve ball, leaving their family with many questions.
However, they keep going, always remembering their dad and husband.
Parke County Food Pantry is raising money for the Newnum family.
If you'd like to help, you can donate to the Newnum Memorial Fund at any First Financial Bank.
