TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - New details on a Terre Haute man accused of abusing his adopted children.
Larry Russell and his wife, Nikki, are both charged with neglect of dependents and battery.
Both accused of locking the children in their rooms and beating them. Larry Russell requested a change-of-venue for his trial back in May.
A judge denied his request. Prosecutors have offered plea deals to both.
Larry Russell's trial is set for October 15 and Nikki Russell returns to court on July 12.
UPDATE: Around 9 a.m. on Saturday, the Terre Haute Police Department responded to the Statesman Inn room 144 at 1407 N 3rd Street. Officers found Randall Norton Jr, 21, with multiple stab wounds to his back and abdomen.
The Washington Police Department responded Friday around 2 a.m. to a complaint of a male subject being shot. The incident happened on Oak Grove Road in Washington near Ebenezer Baptist Church.
