TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - One Terre Haute family wants to challenge a city ordinance concerning swimming pools.
Currently, all pool owners in the city must have a five-foot fence surrounding a pool.
Terre Haute City Council is considering an ordinance that would allow owners to skip a fence if the pool has a key-operated safety cover.
The cover must be able to support 400 pounds.
Council members could vote on the matter Thursday night.
UPDATE: Around 9 a.m. on Saturday, the Terre Haute Police Department responded to the Statesman Inn room 144 at 1407 N 3rd Street. Officers found Randall Norton Jr, 21, with multiple stab wounds to his back and abdomen.
Update: The Washington Police Department is looking to speak with a person of interest in an ongoing death investigation.
