NORTH TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - One North Terre Haute church celebrated their 100th year Sunday!
First Baptist Church had their centennial celebration today commemorating 100 years in the service ministry.
They brought in The Shane Brothers, a popular Christian quartet, for their morning service.
Then they held a cookout in their parking lot for church members.
Leaders say they wanted to remember God's faithfulness in keeping their church going strong for this long.
"It validates kind of what we hold true, which is that God loves his church…We've got plenty of hiccups in our past, but He's been faithful and kept this place in existence and running and it shows He cares about this community,” said Brett Parks, associate pastor.
First Baptist Church has about 250 members. Leaders say they continue to grow by the year.
