TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Sheriff’s deputies respond to situation in southern Vigo County.
It happened Thursday evening on Mary Lane, just south of 7th street and US 41.
Sheriff Greg Ewing has told News 10 the body of a man has been located inside the house.
The incident appears to be a suicide.
The potential method of death is a homemade chemical concoction.
Evidence of that was offered up by the victim himself, according to the sheriff.
When responders arrived, they found a note on the door warning of dangerous chemicals inside saying “Before entering, ventilate the room. Toxic gas inside.”
That note prompted hazmat crews to be called to the scene.
At this point, no neighborhood evacuations have been warranted.
