TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A statewide shortage has blood officials asking for your help.
The shortage is so bad, hospitals are telling blood centers their units can't be filled.
On Monday, Indiana's Department of Heath named the shortage level critical.
That allows Indiana's blood center to ask for help from the media.
Indiana Blood Center in Terre Haute says it's ready for your donation.
“Get out there and donate blood, we really need your blood, particularly in the next 48 hours,” Shelly Shearer from the Indiana Blood Center said.
To accommodate more donors, all blood centers will open at 8:00 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
The Terre Haute Blood Center is located at 2021 South 3rd Street.
