DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind (WTHI) - The Daviess County Sheriff's Office responded Monday night to a fatal accident between a truck and a horse drawn cart.
The cart included four female passengers.
The driver of the 2004 Ford F250 was traveling southbound on County Road 900 E in Daviess County and failed to see the cart.
The driver swerved to the left striking the rear corner of the cart, ejecting all four passengers.
One passenger was taken to Daviess Community Hospital by ambulance and later air-lifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Ind. She later died from her injuries.
No other passengers were treated for injuries.
Officials report the cart did have functional lights at the time of the crash.
This accident is still under investigation.
Two people are in the Vigo County jail facing charges of burglary with deadly weapons, residential entry, and possession of various drugs and paraphernalia.

UPDATE: Around 9 a.m. on Saturday, the Terre Haute Police Department responded to the Statesman Inn room 144 at 1407 N 3rd Street. Officers found Randall Norton Jr, 21, with multiple stab wounds to his back and abdomen.
