MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A Montgomery County teenager is dead after the truck he was in crashes on the way to school.
It happened around 8:30 a.m. Thursday on Old State Road 55 just south of County Road 500 West.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says brothers Mitchell and Michael McCord, both 18, were driving to Crawfordsville High School when Mitchell failed to negotiate a turn and overcorrected.
That's when the truck went across the other lane, off the side of the road, and rolled at least twice before stopping.
Michael McCord was ejected from the truck. He died on the way to the hospital from massive internal injuries.
Mitchell was taken to Franciscan Saint Elizabeth Crawfordsville with a shoulder injury. Deputies say neither of the brothers was wearing a seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation.
UPDATE: Around 9 a.m. on Saturday, the Terre Haute Police Department responded to the Statesman Inn room 144 at 1407 N 3rd Street. Officers found Randall Norton Jr, 21, with multiple stab wounds to his back and abdomen.
The Washington Police Department responded Friday around 2 a.m. to a complaint of a male subject being shot. The incident happened on Oak Grove Road in Washington near Ebenezer Baptist Church.
