EDGAR COUNTY, Ill. (WTHI) - News 10 has confirmed a two engine plane crash with one occupant in Edgar County, Ill.
The Edgar County Coroner has confirmed the pilot of the plane has died. No names have been released at this time.
The investigation started around 10:30 a.m. when a truck driver saw a fire in the woods east of the county airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration has taken over the investigation while several crews responded to the scene.
Information obtained from the FAA registry confirms the aircraft was a CESSNA 421C Fixed Wing Multi-Engine aircraft. The registry shows the aircraft was owned by Venezia Marine, Inc. from Terre Haute.

UPDATE: Around 9 a.m. on Saturday, the Terre Haute Police Department responded to the Statesman Inn room 144 at 1407 N 3rd Street. Officers found Randall Norton Jr, 21, with multiple stab wounds to his back and abdomen.
Update: The Washington Police Department is looking to speak with a person of interest in an ongoing death investigation.
