TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A Vigo County Sheriff's deputy was arrested Friday on allegations of child pornography violations.
Indiana State Police made the arrest. According to police the deputy was under investigation before the arrest was made.
The U.S. Attorney's Office will be conducting the investigation. News 10 has reached out to the Vigo County Sheriff's Department, Indiana State Police, and the U.S. Attorney's Office.
They all said that the federal office has sealed all of the details into this case, including the deputy's identity. For that reason, no official outlet is releasing or confirming the deputy's name.
Vigo County Sheriff, Greg Ewing told News 10 that he was made fully aware of the situation Friday. He has placed that deputy on administrative leave.
