TERRE HAUTE, ind. (WTHI) - A still relatively new horse sanctuary is getting its moment thanks to crime, unfortunately.
The Horse-Shoe Equine Rescue, right outside the town of Burnett in Vigo County was robbed of one very valuable four wheeler overnight,
Ron and Tammy Barnett say around 2:00 Wednesday morning, someone broke into their barn and ripped off the ride, valued at $4,000.
The Barnetts say the crooks gained access to the barn through a window in the back.
“”We’re a non-profit and we’re a start-up! We haven’t been around too long…We really need this! We use it daily. We use it to haul hay with, we use it to haul manure,” Ron Barnett said.
Barnett has a feeling he knows the thief because, whoever it was had to know the four wheeler was in the barn.
If you have any tips, you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 238-STOP.
