TERRE HAUTE,Ind. (WTHI) - A routine traffic stop leads to a sizable marijuana bust on I-70.
It happened around 4:00 Thursday afternoon near the 30 mile marker.
Indiana State Police stopped a vehicle for a broken tail light.
As the trooper approached the car, he noticed a distinct smell of raw marijuana.
After searching the vehicle, police found one quarter of a pound of suspected marijuana packaged and placed in the trunk.
Police arrested Trayvon Turner, 19, of Indianapolis, who was a passenger in the car. Turner is being charged for possession of marijuana over 30 grams and dealing in marijuana.
The driver of the car, Darius Gordon, 22, also of Indianapolis was cited for driving while suspended. He has since been released.
