ELLETSVILLE, Ind. (WTHI) - Police have made a second arrest in connection with a motel shooting that happened earlier this week.
Police planned to spend their Thursday searching for a man thought to be the shooter in a burglary at the Royal Inn in Terre Haute, but the wanted man was arrested by Ellettsville Police on unrelated charges.
Joseph Sims, 28, is the suspect in the shooting that happened late Monday night.
Investigators say Sims borrowed a van from a friend, Wendy Nickeson, and late Monday night Sims told her about the crime. Nickeson faces charges of obstructing justice .
Terre Haute police don't know all of the information surrounding the arrest of Sims.
He's being held in Ellettsville on charges of intimidation of police with a deadly weapon and public intoxication.
He is expected to be back in Vigo County sometime after his court appearance in Monroe County.
The victim is still in an Indianapolis hospital and police say his condition is improving
