VIGO CO., Ind. (WTHI) - Vigo County's health department is working on new guidelines to keep West Nile virus numbers down.
The health department Tuesday morning made the proposal at the Vigo County Commissioner's meeting, wanting to work on a way to dispose of old and unused tires safely.

Mosquitoes carry can carry the West Nile virus and transmit it via biting you.
If approved, Vigo County Health Officials say the ordinance would hold more people accountable for keeping the area clear.
