NORTHEAST, Ind. (WANE) - Every teams goal is to finish their season in Indianapolis playing for a state championship. Tonight, area high school football teams finally got the opportunity to realize that dream, as Semi-State championships were on the line in the IHSAA football playoffs.

In 2A, Bishop Luers earned their state record 12th Semi-State title, dominating Rensselaer Central 52-21. The Knights will take on undefeated Monrovia for the 2A State Title, Friday at 7:30pm.

In 1A, the Raiders of Southern Wells were making their second straight Semi-State appearance, and unfortunately, the result was the same as last year. Southern Wells fell to the high powered passing attack of top ranked Lafayette Central Catholic, 47-13.

Bishop Dwenger will try for a 2nd straight Semi-State title on Saturday as they travel to take on Lowell. Glenn Marini previews the matchup in the 2nd segment of the Highlight Zone.

The 3rd segment includes highlights of the Komets grudge match with Muskegon, along with recaps of college hoops action from Indiana and Purdue.
