INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - He’s done for the season. That’s the word from the Indianapolis Colts Wednesday as they placed wide receiver Austin Collie on Injured Reserve.
Collie suffered his second concussion of the season – his third head injury this year – during Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The second-year receiver has only played in three quarters since he was first carted off the field on Nov. 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Monday, Colts' coach Jim Caldwell told the media Collie’s future this season was up to the doctors.
“Here’s the thing. There’s not a coach that makes any decision based on anybody who has a concussion. Once he’s cleared and ready to go, that’s the case,” he said.
Collie scored two touchdowns before being injured in Sunday’s win over the Jaguars. He leads the team with eight touchdown catches.
