INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Colts were taking a closer look at Stanford University quarterback Andrew Luck on Tuesday, as the Colts say the other contender for the top draft pick rejected an offer for a private workout.

On Tuesday, Colts owner Jim Irsay announced via Twitter the team was looking at Luck in a private workout in California. Luck and Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III have had buzz surrounding them as early draft picks. But Irsay said an agent representing Griffin, better known as RG3, rejected an invitation from the Colts to have a private workout for Colts officials.

Irsay said via Twitter on Monday that team staff members were headed to Stanford after full participation by players in off-season workouts.

Earlier on Monday, Irsay also tweeted about April being a big month for the Colts, with the April 26 draft looming.

Luck has been discussed as a likely first round draft pick for the Colts, though team officials have stopped short of saying he’s a guaranteed choice.
