Colts cut veteran long snapper Justin Snow

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Another long-time Indianapolis Colts veteran was let go as the NFL-mandated roster limit of 53 has teams making changes before the 9 p.m. Friday deadline.

Long snapper Justin Snow, signed as an undrafted rookie in the year 2000 out of Baylor got the call in the morning, and said he wasn’t shocked, but a bit disappointed. Snow played in 192 straight games for the horseshoes — second only to Peyton Manning’s ironman streak, something he was very proud of.

“Being able to play for a class organization for so long is something that means the world to me,” Snow said. “I have nothing but great memories and relationships that I’ll take to whatever comes next.”

Snow says even at age 35, he has a lot of football still in him.

“I’m not ready to call it a career. My agent is seeing what else might be out there, and hopefully we’ll get a call and keep this thing going,” Snow said.

The veteran was making $925,000 a year, and was probably a big reason the choice was made. Matt Overton will make $390,000 as the new Colts long snapper.
