Homeowner confused why someone would take $3 gourd

SAN ANTONIO (CNN/KENS) - A man in Texas said he doesn't understand why someone would steal his $3 pumpkins, and the culprit is caught on surveillance in the act.

You can see a woman in the video running up to the doorstep and snatching a pumpkin. She comes back for the other pumpkin and takes it, too.

Then you see her hop back into her car and pull away.

People at a nearby pumpkin patch questioned the need to steal the vegetable when they are so inexpensive.

"I mean, it's terrible,” said the patch-goer. “I mean, you know, why would someone steal pumpkins when they are so cheap?"

The homeowner said he and his children were going to carve the pumpkins later that day.
