WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - A couple of men managed to escape their kidnappers Thursday morning and alert officials of another woman still inside a home just north of Leander.

Officials said the three people were kidnapped - though it is unknown from where - and taken to a trailer in the 4400 block of Oak Creek Road.

Williamson County sheriff's officials first reported the incident as a "police situation" on Bagdad and Oak Creek roads , but it soon became a kidnapping case when two men called police at 6 a.m. from a nearby Texaco and said their kidnappers still had another woman.

"Two of the three were able to escape north of Leander, and that how what tipped our hand to this location here and the female that was being held here," said Sgt. John Foster, with the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.

That is when Williamson County officials called in multiple agencies, including Travis County officials, to help them make entry into the home and get the woman out.

"Our SWAT team brought in a backup because we did not know when we were going to be able to make entry into the residence," said Foster. "It just worked out that when our SWAT team approached the house, we were able to hear the female and go in and get her and rescue her."

Authorities were able to rescue the woman, and all three victims were taken to an area hospital without life-threatening injuries. They are between 20- and 40 years old.

Many in the area noticed the morning flurry of activity and wondered what was going on.

"I was driving on Nameless Road at the intersection at Bagdad , and I saw an unmarked police car," said Leander resident Jim Jacobson, who was on his way to work. "Then, I just saw other police cars headed in that general direction."

Jacobson said he saw police cars heading just north of Ranch Road 2243 on Bagdad Road.

Meanwhile, the suspects are still at large, though police did not say how many.

While no other people are  inside the home, authorities are still investigating the active crime scene. Officials said this is not a human trafficking case.
