STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) -- An Ashley, Indiana woman was taken to the hospital early Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle. Police said the driver was distracted by his morning coffee.

Becky Young, 32, was walking along Grapevine Road just north of County Road 700 S around 5:30 a.m.  That's when she was struck by a southbound vehicle driven by Brett Baugher, 36, of Pleasant Lake.

Baugher told police on the scene that he was pouring a cup of coffee from a thermos when the collision took place.

Young was flown from the scene to a local hospital with injuries to the head and leg.
