INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana officials will conduct a statewide media campaign encouraging people to get flu vaccinations.
The effort will include ads on television, radio, newspapers and billboards. The television ad features Gov. Mitch Daniels and Indiana Health Department Commissioner Judy Monroe.
The advertisements not only encourage certain people to get shots for H1N1 flu, but also the common seasonal flu that occurs every year. Officials said about 1,100 Indiana residents die each year from pneumonia and the seasonal flu.
Daniels and Monroe got their seasonal flu shots at the governor's office Wednesday, when they announced the statewide campaign.
