WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden is accusing Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan of flip-flopping on national security matters.

Biden tells "CBS This Morning" that Romney and Ryan have "gone from rattling the saber tooth, you know, being doves carrying, you know, peace. I don't know what they stand for."

Ryan, appearing on the same program, found fault with President Barack Obama's remarks on the U.S. military.

Ryan says that "to compare modern American battleships and Navy with bayonets, I just don't understand that comparison."

He says that if all the defense cuts Obama proposes actually take place, "our Navy will be smaller than it was before World War I."

All of the candidates now begin a mad dash to Election Day, now two weeks away.
