A winter weather advisory will be in effect for our Illinois counties now through midnight tonight and in our Indiana counties from 3 p.m. EST this afternoon through 7 a.m. Wednesday. The scattered rain showers we’re seeing this afternoon will change into a mix with freezing rain and sleet over the next few hours.
By tonight, the freezing rain/sleet mixture will change over to all snow and minor accumulations are expected. An average of 2 – 4″ is a good estimation for central portions of the Wabash Valley including Edgar-Clark in IL and southern Vermillion-Vigo-Clay-Greene-Owen-Sullivan in Indiana. There will be less to the southwest, 1 – 2″ for Knox-Martin-Daviess in IN & Crawford-Lawrence-Jasper-Richland-Clay in IL. Up to 5″ in isolated locations is possible to the northeast (Parke-Putnam-Vermillion).
