TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - John Loeffler hit a 3-run homer in the first inning to put the Rex up 4-0 early, but they could not hang on.
Quincy went on to outscore the Rex 15-1 from that point forward, to advance into the Prospect League championship with a 15-5 win.
Effingham product, Anthony Hecht, was a huge part of the victory for the Gems. Hecht went 3-5 at the plate, with a home run and 2 RBI.
