Rex land 2014 All-Star game

Terre Haute, Ind.(WTHI) - The Terre Haute Rex have been awarded the 2012 Prospect League All-Star game. The Rex proposal to host the game was accepted and passed unanimously by the Prospect League board of directors Friday at the league's annual fall meetings in Indianapolis.

"Year after year since Terre Haute joined the Prospect League they have been a star in the league," said Prospect League Commissioner Dave Chase. "Terre Haute Rex fans are really into it. Ever since Terre Haute landed the Rex the community has embraced the team. Fans wear Rex merchandise and its a great environment for baseball."

"We are really excited for the 2014 Prospect League All-Star game," said Roland Shelton, Vice President of Constituent for the ISU Foundation. "I spoke with Dave Patterson from Terre Haute Convention Bureau and Visitors. He is willing to help market the all-star game. This is a great addition to the Rex season and its fans. It will bring additional excitement to Terre Haute, plus bring some really good talent to the area. This creates another special opportunity for the Terre Haute community and Rex baseball."
