TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The 11th annual Pizza Hut Classic is in the books and Terre Haute North has recorded its 4th title, the most all-time.
The Patriots beat Northview 52-38 in the championship game Thursday night. The story of the night for the Patriots was defense. They started the game on a 13-0 run and held the Knights to just 5 first quarter points.
The Patriots led by 6 at the half, 28-22. Northview made its run in the early parts of the second half, at one point the Knights were within three, but then Todd Woelfle’s group locked in defensively again. The Patriots ended the game just the way they ended the first quarter, on a 16-5 run. More impressively, Northview did not score from the field in the last 11 minutes of the contest. The Knights 6 4th quarter points were all from the line.
Logan Shipley led the way offensively with 13 points and Matt O’Leary added 11. Trent Lancaster had another gutty performance to cement a place on the all tournament team. He led all scorers with 17 points, and Dillon Reynolds chipped in with 14.
