INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indianapolis Colts may have plugged their biggest hole on defense by trading two undisclosed draft picks to Miami for cornerback Vontae Davis.

The Dolphins confirmed the move Sunday afternoon.

The move ends a weekend full of speculation. Team owner Jim Irsay started the discussion Thursday night when he posted several messages on Twitter indicating the Colts were in serious trade talks, perhaps for a high draft choice.

But the deal wasn't consummated until Sunday.

Indy has been desperately looking for a second cornerback to start opposite veteran Jerraud Powers, and Davis fits the bill.

The Dolphins took Davis with the No. 25 overall pick in 2009. In 44 career games, he has 148 tackles and nine interceptions.
