TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The Indiana State women’s basketball team opens play in the 2013 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament on Friday, March 15, as the fifth-seeded Sycamores face fourth-seeded Northern Iowa. Tipoff inside The Family Arena is set for 3:30 p.m. (ET), 2:30 p.m. locally in St. Charles, Mo.
Indiana State enters the conference tournament at 18-11 on the season, finishing league play tied with UNI for fourth place with a 10-8 record within the MVC. UNI edged Indiana State for the tournament’s fourth seed after sweeping the season series with the Sycamores.
ISU’s spot as the fifth seed in the 2013 MVC Tournament is their best seed since also being the fifth seed in the 2008-09 conference tournament. That season, the Sycamores fell 70-49 to fourth-seeded Bradley in their opening game of the tournament.
