Virginia Tech names A.J. Hughes a starter

Terre Haute, Ind.(WTHI) - Thursday Virginia Tech head football coach Frank Beamer named A.J. Hughes the starting punter for the Hokies season opener. The former Terre Haute North Patriot is a preferred walk-on at Virginia Tech. Hughes and the 16th ranked Hokies kick off their season Monday at home versus Georgia Tech on ESPN.
