Trail Blazers take Meyers Leonard

Terre Haute, Ind.(WTHI) - The Portland Trail Blazers used the 11th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft on Meyers Leonard. The former Robinson star and University of Illinois big man is the first Big Ten player taken in this years NBA draft.

The 7-foot-1 center averaged 13.6 points and 8.2 rebounds a game. Leonard also lead the Big Ten with 1.9 blocks per game. In 2010, the 20-year old Leonard guided the Robinson Maroons to the Illinois Class 2A state championship.
