Terre Haute, Ind.(WTHI) - Terre Haute South senior Tyler Seibert  verbally committed Wednesday to the Indiana State men's track & field program.

Seibert is one of the top 400 meter runners in the state. Last year as a junior at South, Seibert was undefeated in the 400, until the state finals. He finished 10th at the 2012 IHSAA  Track & Field state finals in the 400 meter dash.  Seibert said he will look at competing in the decathlon, 400 meter dash and long jump at ISU.

"Nothing like running for my hometown," said Seibert. "ISU is a great program." Seibert picked ISU over the University of Washington, Iowa and Northern Iowa.

Tyler Seibert was also a standout on the football field for Terre Haute South. The Braves senior was one of the top wide receivers in the MIC. Seibert said he has talked to ISU head football coach Trent Miles about playing for the Sycamores. Both parties are interested, Seibert said he'll see how it plays out.
