Recap 1st day of HS hoops practice

Terre Haute, Ind.(WTHI) - Indiana high school basketball teams hit the court Monday for there first official practice of the 2012-2013 season. Sports 10 made stops at Terre Haute North, Terre Haute South, West Vigo and Northview.

Last season Terre Haute North advanced all the way to the Class 4A, elite eight. North returns seven of their top nine players from last years team that made the schools deepest postseason run since 1999. 

Terre Haute South is coming off a 8-15 season last year. The Braves return one of the top seniors in the area in Jeffrey Turner. He averaged 18.9 points and 9.9 rebounds one season ago.

At West Vigo, head coach Joe Boehler will rely heavily on three players from last years 11-12 team in Kyle Stewart, Adrien Cornflos and Cade Lindsey. Coach Boehler does believe he has one of his deepest Vikings team yet.

First year head coach Clint Weddle held his first practice at Northview. The Knights have struggled lately with three losing seasons in the last four years. Enthusiasm is high with Weddle in charge, 48 kids turned out for tryouts.
