TERRE HAUTE, Ind (WTHI) - - Terre Haute South head football coach Mark Raetz has resigned. A source close to the situation confirmed to Sports 10 that Coach Raetz held a meeting Monday morning, informing the Braves players of his decision. Sports 10 has also learned that pendiing Clay County Community school board approval on Thursday Raetz will be hired as the new head football coach at Northview.
A 1997 graduate at South, Raetz took over his alma mater in 2007. In six years Raetz was 15-45 with the Braves. Raetz will replace George Gettle at Northview. In 11 years at Northview Gettle posted a 68-43 record. Under Gettle in the WIC the Knights were 56-10 and won seven of the last nine conference titles.
