MUNCIE, Ind. (WTHI) - The Loogootee Lions battled back from an early 2-0 deficit in the state finals, but fell just short to Cowan in the fifth set in Muncie.

Loogootee lost the first set 25-18, then dropped the second set 25-17, but they looked like a revitalized squad in set three. The Lions stormed out to a 5-0 lead to force a Cowan timeout, then went on to take the set 25-14.

The fourth set was an absolute battle. It was tied at 21 before Loogootee rattled off four straight points to force a fifth set.

Cowan won the fifth set 15-13 ending a terrific season for Loogootee in the state finals.
