TERRE HAUTE, Ind.(WTHI) - Wednesday night Terre Haute North freshman R.J. Drake had a dream become a reality. The North manager has a physical disability after he suffered a stroke during birth, which left him with limited use of the right side of his body.
A month ago North freshman head coach Mike Gant came up with the idea to play Drake in a game. Wednesday night when the Patriots played at West Vigo, Gant put Drake in during the fourth quarter. The manager wasn't hesistant when he was out there, he quickly fired and missed two shots. Then on his third attempt Drake hit a jumper, his teammates mobbed him right after celebrating his basket.
