LeBron James finished with 29 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists to help the Heat turn a 16-point deficit into a 99-93 win over the Knicks in New York. The Pacers kept pace by beating Chicago 97-92 behind David West's 31 points.

UNDATED (AP) — San Antonio's lead in the NBA's Western Conference is three games over Oklahoma City and 4 ½ over the Los Angeles Clippers after the Spurs and Thunder won yesterday. Manu Ginobili (jih-NOH'-bih-lee) finished with 17 points, Danny Green had 16 and Tim Duncan added 16 and 11 rebounds as the Spurs ripped Detroit 114-75. Kevin Durant threw in 35 points and Russell Westbrook contributed 29 points and 10 assists in the Thunder's 108-104 triumph over the Clippers.

DETROIT (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks beat the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 in a shootout to stretch their NHL-record, season-opening point streak to 22 games. Patrick Kane scored the tying goal on a power play with 2:02 left in regulation and had the only shootout tally as the Hawks improved to 19-0-3. The Blackhawks have earned at least a point in 28 straight games dating to last season, tying the second-longest streak in league history.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Michael Thompson captured his first PGA Tour title at the Honda Classic. Thompson capped a 1-under-par 69 with a birdie on the final hole and finished two strokes better than runner-up Geoff Ogilvy, who also carded a 69 on another difficult scoring day at PGA National. Luke Guthrie was tied for the lead with Thompson after three rounds, but the tour rookie could do no better than a 73 that left him in third, four shots back.

AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Carl Edwards ended a drought by taking the checkered flag at Phoenix International Raceway. Edwards led the final 78 laps in ending his 70-race winless skid, one week after he wrecked five cars at Daytona. Daytona 500 winner Jimmie Johnson finished second, followed by Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
