MESA, Ariz. (AP) — Carlos Gomez homered yesterday to help the Milwaukee Brewers beat a Chicago Cubs split-squad 4-3. Taylor Green added two hits and an RBI for the Brewers. Starter Marco Estrada pitched four scoreless innings for Milwaukee before leaving to join Team Mexico in the World Baseball Classic.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Bucks will go for their fourth straight victory tonight at home against the Utah Jazz. The Bucks have won three in a row, including an overtime victory over Toronto. The Jazz are coming off a 30-point win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday.
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — Lauren Silberman's NFL tryout lasted all of two kicks, neither of which traveled 20 yards. The 28-year-old former Wisconsin club soccer player is the first woman to compete at an NFL regional scouting combine. Silberman left the New York Jets' practice field after injuring her quadriceps.
